  After long years of development we proudly present you TV-Browser 3.0.1 as the best TV-Browser ever. A huge amount of changes are included in this release, if you want to know more about those change you can find informations about it in our Wiki.

  Since TV-Browser 3.0 you will need at least Java 6. If it isn't available for your operation system you can use the version 2.7.6 (Java 5) or 2.2.6 (Java 1.4).

  TV-Browser 2.7.6 is the new version of the 2.7.x branch, after over 500000 downloads of TV-Browser 2.7.5 it fixes mostly a bug in the tray menu with Java 6 Update 23.

• TV-Browser 3.0 (Beta2)

  After a long time TV-Browser 3.0 (Beta2) is a version that comes with new features. You will find features wished countless times and also new features you wouldn't dream of. The most important new features are:

  • Presentation: The program table shows tool tips. They show which Plugin has highlighted the program, when the program ends and more
  • Clear arrangement: Long tiltle are shorten, the default information are shorter, the column width was optimized and more. Of course you are able to change this behavior.
  • State of the art: Changes for Java 6, Java 7, OpenJDK, Windows 7, Ubuntu 9.10
  • Integration: TV-Browser is now better integrated in the different platforms, so shortcuts, naming, menu position, color or other details will fit much better.
  • Performance: This version is also faster (and saves memory) than the previous version and that despite the new features.

  Though some changes you may find some Plugins that won't work with TV-Browser 3.0 (Beta2). Please inform the developer of the Plugin to get a new version.

  Like always TV-Browser 3.0 (Beta2) fixes bugs of the previous version, but as a beta version it may contains bugs, so this version should only be tested by users who are experienced.

  TV-Browser 2.7.5 fixes one major and a few minor bugs. The major bug could prevent the german tv shows to be listed in the installation wizard.

• Need server

  We badly need a dedicated server to host our website, the forum and the data processing. Our current server doesn't have the needed performance and the payment is also no longer possible.

  So we need someone who is willing to provide us with a free dedicated server. We will gladly provide a "Hosted by ..." sticker on each of our pages to repay for the free server.

  We need about 500GB traffic per month and at least 2GB RAM (better would be 4GB), contact under: dev@tvbrowser.org

  Are you tired of staring at the wall? Would you like to do something more useful? This is precisely what TV-Browser offers. We are currently looking for developers who like to participate in one of the best-known desktop applications for Java. But you can also help us if you are not a developer.

  For developers the best place to look at is our ticket system and our Wiki. There are a lot of todos. We can also discuss new ideas you might have at our forum. We will certainly help you at the forum if you have some problems.

  TV-Browser provides a broad field of interesting tasks, from the programming of graphical user interfaces to the deep introduction into data structures is everything present. It gets never boring and afterwards you know what you have created and that it will be useful for people all over the world. It is desirable for the development of TV-Browser if new developers with different ideas and concepts join the team. It is to be kept in mind that a growing experience in programming will also be helpful in professional life, and the collaboration in a big and well-known OpenSource project is always a good in an application.

  Non-developers can also help. There are some suggestions on our Mithelfen page in the Wiki. E.g. you could start with translating that page for the english Version of our Wiki.

  A company tries to rip-off TV-Browser-Users and tries to sneak them into an contract that costs a huge amount of money.

  To be clear:

  We don't work together with these con man. All users that got a bill from this company should read this article from Heise.
